Frequently Asked Questions
Why avoid ambiguous characters?
Characters like 'l' (lowercase L), '1' (one), 'I' (uppercase i), 'O' (uppercase o), and '0' (zero) look identical in many fonts. Filtering them out prevents confusion when reading or typing passwords manually.
How often should I change my password?
Security experts recommend changing critical passwords every 6 to 12 months, or immediately if you suspect a database breach. Using a password manager is highly recommended to keep track of unique passwords for every site.
